This week’s adventure was a culmination of interactions between two different friends. I recently had a conversation with a friend that is a large animal vet who mentioned there is a fully automated dairy plant in Midway. Within a few days of that conversation an old friend called to see if I would do family photos for his little family. After about a three year hiatus on doing family photography I have decided to get back on the wagon. This friend wanted to take pictures at the “ice castles” which ironically are also located in Midway. So we decided to make a day of it.
The first stop was the Heber Valley Artisan Cheese shop. This is a cool little shop that really emphasizes some of the core logos I’m trying to promote with Little Mischief’s Adventures, namely LOCAL! Outside of having a large variety of artisan cheeses with titles such as “jalapeno bacon,” “cinnamon honey,” “fuego rojo chedar,” and “lavender”; they also sold a wide variety local products from specialty salsa to olive oil. Lunch was great and the people were awesome.
We then made the short jont over to the Midway Ice Castle exhibit where my friend wanted to take his family photos. This place was quite magical and fun. Admission is not inexpensive, so going with a large family may be prohibitive, but the unique structures are quite breathtaking. There are some kid friendly sections with slides and it is visually stunning. Overall it was a bit smaller than perhaps we had expected and you can thoroughly explore the structure within an hour. But the novelty of the experience made it worth checking it out.
Overall, Midway turned out to be a fun little town and the Artisan Cheese shop will likely be placed as a must go destination when in that area.
